Tariq Heijboer is an independent Amsterdam based graphic designer with an experimental and typographic approach. He often works on books, exhibitions, typefaces, signage systems and visual identities. Tariq has a fascination for mistakes within systems of communication, language and the alphabet. He is initiator of Silly Type Foundry (2022), a platform and ongoing research into unusual typographic projects. Tariq studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (NL).



Some of the commissioners/partners Tariq Heijboer has worked together with include; University of Amsterdam, Jap Sam Books, M HKA, Welcome Stranger, Popma Ter Steege Architecten, Koninklijke Bibliotheek, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Museum de Lakenhal, V-A-C Foundation, PLP Architecture, Eenwerk and Studio Claudy Jongstra. Tariq’s work has been selected for The Best Dutch Book Design and Schönsten Bücher Aus Aller Welt.
